The Akwa Ibom State Government Bursary is currently being awarded to eligible undergraduate students currently studying in Nigerian Federal and State universities.
Qualified students enrolled in several undergraduate courses like Engineering, Medicine, Law, Agriculture, Science, Arts, Social Science, and Education will receive ₦50,000 to support their studies.
The Akwa Ibom State Bursary will be awarded every year to these students provided the criteria for retaining the scholarship are met.

Applications for the 2026 Akwa Ibom State Bursary Program are now open.
The Akwa Ibom State Government is excited to announce the launch of the new and improved Student Bursary and Support Grant Portal, a dedicated online platform designed to simplify the application process for students applying for the yearly bursary payment.
This provides a gateway where every student from Akwa Ibom State studying in a public (non-private) tertiary institution in Nigeria can apply for the yearly student bursary.

Valid Student Registration Number
Valid Student ID Card
Valid Admission Letter
Valid Certificate of Origin
Valid School Fee Receipt
Be able to complete our digital identity checks
Valid NIN
Scholarship Requirements
To be considered for the Akwa Ibom State Bursary, you must:
be an indigene of Akwa Ibom State (valid Certificate of Origin required)
be enrolled in a public (government-owned) tertiary institution in Nigeria — students with disabilities may apply from any tertiary institution
be a current, full-time undergraduate or postgraduate student
possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN) that matches school records
not be a beneficiary of any other government-sponsored scholarship or bursary scheme
Benefits
Each verified student receives a bursary of ₦50,000 directly to their bank account.
