The Chevening Leicester Partner Scholarship is a joint partnerships between the UK Government (Chevening Scholarship) and the University of Leicester.

Recipients of the 2027 Chevening Scholarship will receive a return airfare, a full tuition fee waiver, a stipend to cover living costs and other allowances to fully support them to study with us here at the University of Leicester.

The University of Leicester is thrilled to announce the launch of the Chevening-Leicester Partner Scholarship, an exceptional opportunity for students from Chevening-eligible countries to pursue their academic dreams.

The University of Leicester has welcomed over 60 Chevening Scholars since 2013 from all over the world and is a long-standing member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

The Chevening Leicester Partner Scholarship offers two fully funded scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year, providing recipients with a comprehensive package of support, ensuring they can focus entirely on their studies without financial worries.

Eligible Countries

Scholarship Requirements

To be considered for the 2027 Chevening Leicester Scholarship, you must:

  • be from one of the Chevening-eligible countries.

  • be applying to study or studying a one-year taught Master’s course within the College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities or the School of Geography, Geology and the Environment.

  • be starting the said program in September 2027.

In addition to the specific criteria for the Chevening-Leicester Partner Scholarship, applicants must also fulfill the standard Chevening requirements, which include:

  • Being a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country.

  • Commiting to returning to your home country for at least two years after completing your studies.

  • Holding an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry into a postgraduate program at a UK university.

  • Having at least two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours) of work experience.
