Scholarship description

Czech Republic Government Scholarship offers Full Scholarships and monthly stipends to citizens of developing and specified countries, allowing them to study at any public institution across the country.

Since the 1950s, over 20 thousand foreign nationals have completed their studies in the Czech Republic using the Czech Republic Government Scholarship award. The award covers tuition, accommodation, travel costs, and a living stipend of CZK 17,000.

Scholarship Details

The Czech Republic Government Scholarship for studies at universities in the Czech Republic is governed by a Resolution of the Government of the Czech Republic No. 77, as of 28th January 2019.

It forms a part of a joint foreign development cooperation program pursued by the country’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

The Government of the Czech Republic offers scholarships within the framework of its Foreign Development Assistance in support of the study of foreign nationals from developing and specific third countries listed below.

Scholarship Requirements

To apply for the Czech Republic Government Scholarship 2027, please note the following;

  • The scholarship is open to the citizens of the following countries: Nigeria, Guatamela, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Zambia.

  • Citizens of all other countries are not eligible to apply.

  • EU Citizens as well as Citizens of the Czech Republic can not apply.

  • Students applying for the Master’s program must have obtained a bachelor’s Degree.

  • Students applying for the PhD program must have obtained a bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s degree.

Benefits

The Czech Republic Government Scholarship is designed to cover the standard length of study:

  • Study costs are covered

  • Living Expenses

  • CZK 16,000 per month for the Master’s Degree Student

  • CZK 17,000 per month for the PhD student.

  • Costs of accommodation, food, and public transport are covered by scholarship holders from the scholarship.

  • Travel expenses for travelling to the Czech Republic and back to the student’s home country are paid by the party that nominated the student for the scholarship or by the foreign national at his/her own cost.

    Each applicant is obliged to fill in an electronic application form before the deadline of the 2025 application process. The successful applicant starts studying in the academic year 2027/2028
