The DAAD Young Ambassadors Program is a unique and exciting two-semester volunteer opportunity for DAAD scholars and students to promote study and research in Germany at their home universities and colleges.
Young Ambassadors are undergraduate students from North America who recently studied abroad in Germany and promote study in Germany at their home universities with help from the DAAD.
During the academic year, DAAD Young Ambassadors promote study and research in Germany by working with their universities’ study abroad offices, volunteering at study abroad fairs, organizing class visits, info sessions, fun events, and answering their fellow students’ questions.

Scholarship Requirements
To be considered for the DAAD Young Ambassadors 2027 Program, you must:
Be a national of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal or Sri Lanka.
Have studied or are currently studying/researching in Germany.
Be below 32 years of age as of 1 Jan 2027.
Be enthusiastic about promoting Germany via presentations or events.
Be willing and able to attend the Young Ambassadors Training Workshop, which will take place online in November 2026
Benefits
The DAAD Young Ambassadors Program offers participants professional development, networking, and personal engagement opportunities.
The program starts with a mandatory training session which takes place in August. The objective of the workshop is for participants to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to effectively promote study and research in Germany on their campuses.
Students learn about the German higher education and research system as well as the wide range of DAAD funding opportunities. In addition, the training focuses on refining public speaking and presentation skills and meeting other Young Ambassadors. Accommodation and travel within the US and Canada will be covered by DAAD.
