Fully Funded MESc Position at Western University of London in Canada

Dr Amir Sagharicci is recruiting an MESc student to join my new research group in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Western University in London, Ontario, starting in May 2027.

You will have the opportunity to help shape our experimental research program from an early stage and receive close research mentorship in fluid mechanics, turbulence, experimental methods, and advanced data analysis.

The research aims to focus on the following;

• Turbulent flow separation and reattachment

• Bluff-body and ground-vehicle aerodynamics

• Freestream turbulence and boundary-layer development

• Wake dynamics, flow control, and drag reduction

To be considered for the Western University in London MESc Scholarship, you must have:

• A four-year bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or a related engineering discipline, with a minimum 78% (B+) average based on the last two years of full-time study or the last 20 courses.

• Strong background in fluid mechanics, thermofluids, or aerodynamics

• Experience with experimental methods, PIV, MATLAB/Python, or data analysis is highly desirable.

• Experience with CFD would be an asset

• The position is fully funded, with financial support covering tuition plus a living stipend in accordance with Western University’s graduate funding policies.

• For the May 2027 intake, this opportunity is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
