Gabriel Ezenri Foundation Scholarship For Nigerians

Applications for the 2027 Gabriel Ezenri Foundation Scholarships are now open.

The Gabriel Ezenri Foundation exists to remove the financial barriers that stand between talented people and their academic potential.

The foundation's programmes cover the full academic journey — not just tuition, but the hidden costs that decide whether research happens, papers get published, and careers get launched.

To be considered for the 2027 Gabriel Ezenri Foundation (GEF) Scholarship award, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

• Be a Nigerian citizen or resident

• Be enrolled in, admitted to, or affiliated with an accredited tertiary institution in Nigeria

• Be able to provide the required documentation (see How to Apply)

• Financial Need: Must show genuine financial need.

• Academic Performance: Continuing students need a minimum CGPA of 3.5/5.0.

• New entrants need a UTME score of 250+ or five O’level credits (including English and Mathematics)

• Researchers must:

• Be an early career researchers at Nigerian institutions.

• Research funds covers the following areas

  • Fieldwork and data collection

• Laboratory consumables and small equipment

• Software and dataset access

• Research assistant stipends

• Ethics approval fees

• Transcription and analysis services

Selected awardees receive a comprehensive financial package that removes financial barriers:

• Scholarships: Up to ₦500,000 for undergraduate students

• Research Grants: ₦150,000–₦1,000,000 for early career researchers

• Academia Support: Graduate application support and mentorship

To complete your application, prepare the following documents in advance:

• Academic Transcripts

• Admission/enrolment evidence A

• personal statement (500–800 words)

• One reference

• For Research grants — a project proposal and budget (max 3 pages).

  Prepare your documents: Typically: academic transcripts, admission/enrolment evidence, a personal statement (500–800 words), one reference, and — for research grants — a project proposal and budget (max 3 pages).

  Submit the online form before the deadline, late or incomplete applications are not reviewed, so start early. Upload all required documents through our secure application form.

  Shortlisting and interviews: Shortlisted candidates are invited to a virtual interview with our review panel.

  Decisions: All applicants are notified by email by 30 November 2026. Award recipients are announced publicly on this site.
