A Master of Science Graduate Research Assistantship is available with Dr. Isaac Hayford at the Cooperative Research Department, Lincoln University of Missouri.
The project will investigate long term responses of oak reproduction to a series of silvicultural release treatments applied over the years in bottomland hardwood forests in Missouri.
The duties of this position will include completion of required coursework, field sampling, data analysis, completion of thesis, and peer-review publication. The start date of the position is Fall 2026.

To be considered for the Lincoln University Scholarship, you must meet the requirements below:
Bachelor’s degree in forestry, ecology, natural resource management, or a related field
Strong interest in forest management.
Strong quantitative data analysis skills (R or SAS)
Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)
Valid driver’s license
Benefits
The successful candidate will receive $6,000/year tuition support, and a competitive stipend ($25, 000 per year) for two years. Funding is restricted to U.S. citizens (non‑citizens should not apply).
