New York Times Fellowship Program

The New York Times Fellowship is a yearlong program aimed at nurturing emerging journalists who are early in their careers.

Established in 2019, it replaced traditional summer internships, providing more in-depth training, valuable newsroom experience, and lasting connections within the industry. Fellows work full-time, contributing across multiple departments, including reporting, photo, graphics, design, video, audio, audience, and opinion.

The program offers a supportive environment for participants to develop their journalism skills, gain mentorship from editors, and collaborate with some of the industry’s top professionals.
