Ausbildung, is a German word for vocational training or apprenticeship. It combines education with on-the-job training designed to help individuals gain skills to enter the German workforce.

The German Ausbildung Programme strongly focuses on practical skills while keeping a close connection with industry, making it a highly respected system by the international community. It is offered in various fields, including engineering, construction, IT, healthcare and more.

Scholarship Requirements

To be considered for the Ludwig Fresenius Ausbildung Healthcare Program, you must:

  • Have completed at least 10-12 years of basic education (secondary) program.

  • Show a proof of stable health condition.

  • Have a German proficiency certificate at the B2 level.

  •  Demonstrate proof of no criminal from relevant authorities.

Benefits

While you study Healthcare programs in Germany, you will get a monthly allowance for the entire period of your program.

Generally, the Ausbildung offers the following amounts as monthly salary for all selected candidates;

  • Monthly allowance (1st year) -€1,341,

  • Monthly allowance (2nd year) – €1,402

  • Monthly allowance (3rd year) – €1,503

After the vocational training program, graduates get a employments that provide €2,500 – €3,800 as monthly salary.

Additionally, a comprehensive medical insurance will also be provided for you once your program begins in Germany by your employer.

Depending on region and employer, you are also entitled to  a 24/30-day paid leave per year.

Duration:

For a full time program, the duration is 3 years, while a part-time program lasts for a period of 5 years.

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

  • CV (Lebenslauf) in German

  • Motivation letter (why you want to be a nurse)

  • School certificates (translated to German + certified)

  • German language certificate at B2 level (Goethe, ÖSD, Telc, or TestDaF accepted)

  • Health Fitness Certificate (sometimes requested later).

  • Valid Passport & Visa Application Documents.

Step 3: Apply for National Ausbildung Visa

With the training contract, you can apply for a National Visa (Ausbildung Visa) at the German embassy/consulate in your country.

To apply for the German Ausbildung visa, you will need to submit the following documents;

    Many Ausbildung programs are paid (€1,100–€1,500/month gross). If salary covers living costs, blocked account may not be required. (Blocked account usually serves a proof of fund, enough to cover your living expenses for a period of one year in Germany).

    Health insurance (provided by employer once you start).
