The Department of Food Science in the Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) is pleased to welcome candidates for a fully funded graduate assistantship position to study in the USA.

The Department of Food Science in the Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) is internationally recognized as one of Canada’s leading centres for food research and innovation. OAC has a longstanding global reputation in agri-food systems, advanced food processing, food chemistry, and human nutrition.

Faculty members lead major interdisciplinary research programs spanning postharvest technology, food physics, precision nutrition, food structure-function relationships, biopolymer chemistry, and digital food systems. The department hosts state-of-the-art analytical and computational facilities.

It maintains strong collaborations with industry, government, and international research institutions, making it one of the most influential food science departments in North America.

To be considered for the University of Guelph Graduate Assistantship, you must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, data science, agricultural science, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.

• Interest in food systems, data-driven modelling, or agricultural systems.

• Experience with statistics and machinE learning (Python, MATLAB, or R) is desirable.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Highly motivated and able to work in an interdisciplinary research environment. Must meet University of Guelph MSc minimum admission requirements (A-/80% and above entrance average).

• A fully funded MSc (2 years) at one of Canada’s top food science departments.

• Access to interdisciplinary datasets and advanced computational tools.

• Training at the interface of food systems, data science, and nutrition.
