The Department of Geography & Geographic Information Science at the School of Earth, Society & Environment is pleased to welcome applications from qualified and interested international students.

The scholarships are offered in the form of fellowships, as well as teaching and research assistantships (MA, MSc, and PhD) in Geography – GeoAI & Spatial Data Science.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is among the nation’s most distinguished teaching and research institutions, home to the second largest academic library in the United States and the largest map collection among public universities.

To be considered for the University of Illinois Graduate Scholarship, you must:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Geography, GIS, Computer Science, AI, Spatial Data Science, or related fields).

  • Meet the English Language requirements of the University of Illinois

  • GRE scores are not required or considered when applying to any of our graduate programs.
