The prestigious scholarship offers up to €15,300 per year to students from within and outside the European Union to study in Luxembourg.

The University of Luxembourg Scholarships offer funding and provide ample support to both non-EU and EU students. Here’s a breakdown of the available scholarships:
Guillaume Dupaix International Exchange Scholarship: for international students who wish to enrol in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme
The Guillaume Dupaix International PhD Scholarship aims to attract high-achieving international students who wish to follow a doctoral programme at the University of Luxembourg.
Several other faculty-based scholarships are also available for domestic and international applicants at the University of Luxembourg.

To be considered for the 2027 International Scholarships at the University of Luxembourg, you must meet the following criteria:
Guillaume Dupaix International Exchange Scholarship
International applicants from the following selected countries: Canada, China, United States, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Morocco, South Africa, Brazil, Chile and Colombia. Mexico, Uruguay, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, et United Kingdom.
Must be accepted into their selected programme
Nominated by their home university
Applicants must not be beneficiaries of Luxembourg’s State Financial Aid for Higher Education (formerly CEDIES)
Guillaume Dupaix International PhD Scholarship
International applicants from the selected countries (Canada, China, United States, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Morocco, South Africa, Brazil, Chile and Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, et United Kingdom).
Applying for an exchange programme at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
Must be accepted into their chosen exchange programme.
Excellent academic performance during their studies.
Nominated by their home university.
Applicants must not be beneficiaries of Luxembourg’s State Financial Aid for Higher Education (formerly CEDIES)
A&O Shearman Scholarship & Internship
Incoming or Outgoing exchange students at or from the Bachelor en Droit (Bachelor in Law) in the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance
Incoming students must commit to a complete year at the University of Luxembourg (an internship is not possible without being enrolled at the University of Luxembourg and participating in courses).
Incoming students are committed to taking the required credits and law-related studies in the Bachelor in Law, respectively Master at the University of Luxembourg.
Exchange students at or from the Bachelor in Law, respectively the Master in Law at or from the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance.
Residing, or will reside, in Luxembourg or the Greater Region of Luxembourg.
The family income of the applicants may not exceed the threshold communicated in the call for application.
Benefits
The Guillaume Dupaix International PhD Scholarship
The stipend amounts to approximately €1150 per month. A travel grant of €1500 is also available.
Guillaume Dupaix International Exchange Scholarship
The stipend amounts to approximately €5,763 per semester, including housing.
A&O Shearman Scholarship & Internship
€5,000 per student + paid internship

Can I work while studying in Luxembourg?
All students enrolled at the University of Luxembourg are authorised to work during their studies, irrespective of their nationality, during the school holidays (40 hours/week) and/or throughout the year (15 hours/week).
Can I study in English in Luxembourg?
Luxembourg universities use English, German, French, or Luxembourgish as the medium of instruction.
Does the Luxembourg Scholarship require IELTS?
No, a document certifying the completion of a programme in which the main language of instruction was English is enough to study at the University of Luxembourg.

How to Apply
To apply for the 2027 University of Luxembourg Scholarships, interested and qualified applicants should follow the procedures below;

Apply first for a Bachelor’s, Master's, or PhD degree at the University of Luxembourg

Once your application is complete, it will be forwarded to the Director of Studies of the selected programme.

Finalists are expected to hear back from the International Relations Office, which will get back to you regarding your application.

Afterwards, only selected students will be notified if they have received the scholarship.

You will need to confirm the acceptance of your scholarship within three business days.
