The University of Notre Dame provides exceptional opportunities for incoming international or domestic students who achieve well through its Undergraduate Scholars Program. 

The Undergraduate Scholars Programs pillar of the Center for Academic Transformation and Excellence (CATE) consists of cohort-based programs that provide community, academic mentoring, and, in some cases, holistic support for undergraduate students.

Notre Dame Scholars are identified based on a determination that they possess the personal qualities, talent, and passion to have a lasting impact on the world.

To be considered for the University of Notre Dame Scholars Program, you must:

• Be applying to an undergraduate program at the institution

• Be a domestic or an international student

• Meet the English Language requirements of the University of Notre Dame

• Apply before the deadline.

• AnBryce Scholars Initiative

The AnBryce Scholars Initiative is a select, comprehensive, four-year academic program for scholar-leaders who are the first in their families to go to college. The program assists students in navigating their university experience and scaffolds the development of community-minded, global citizens.

• Balfour-Hesburgh Scholars Program

The Balfour-Hesburgh Scholars Program facilitates a pivotal transition from high school to university, guiding students towards academic success and enriching campus life. It is designed to cultivate well-rounded, ambitious individuals committed to making a positive impact in the world.

• Corde Scholars Program

The Corde Scholars Program cultivates the next generation of public servants dedicated to justice. The program is designed for students who have heard a call to devote their lives to making a difference.

• Hesburgh-Yusko Scholars Program

The Hesburgh-Yusko Scholars Program, which will come to an end with the graduation of the Class of 2028, is a comprehensive, merit-based scholarship and leadership-development program that seeks to attract, encourage, and equip extraordinary students who would have a transformational effect on the Notre Dame community, the Church, and the world.

• Scott Scholars Program

The University of Notre Dame partners with the Suzanne & Walter Scott Foundation to offer merit-based scholarships and enrichment funding to Scott Scholars. This program selects students who demonstrate academic achievement, a commitment to service, and leadership ability.

• Stamps Scholars Program

The Notre Dame Stamps Scholars Program attracts exceptional students who exemplify leadership, service, scholarship, innovation, and character. The Notre Dame Stamps Scholars are part of a larger Stamps network of more than 1,800 current and graduate scholars around the world.

• Transformational Leaders Program

The Transformational Leaders Program endeavors to support some of the University’s highest potential undergraduate students with a comprehensive portfolio of support, services, and opportunities to enhance their Notre Dame experience.

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;
