Applications for the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) in the United States are now open.
The Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is one of the most globally diverse, accessible pre-college programs in the world, welcoming students from around the world to reside on Yale’s campus while attending two-week sessions.
Participants are entitled to need-based tuition scholarships that cover housing, meals, curriculum materials, and air chilled rooms.

Yale Young Global Scholars invites high school students ages 16-18 from around the world to reside on Yale’s campus while attending two-week sessions based on different academic tracks.
This coming year brings an exciting location change for YYGS students. Participants will now reside at Yale’s Benjamin Franklin and Pauli Murray Colleges. These dorms are more accessible, within walking distance of downtown New Haven, and offer air chilling technology.
While different than traditional air conditioning, air chilling is a more sustainable approach that keeps rooms significantly cooler, and we are happy to report that all student and staff rooms will be air chilled during YYGS 2027.

Scholarship Requirements
To be considered for the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) 2027, you must:
Be 16–18 years old by the program start date.
Be enrolled in high school or equivalent at the time of application.
Have a strong academic background and genuine interest in the offered academic tracks.

Benefits
YYGS offers Need-Based Financial Aid (covering up to the full cost of tuition) for all domestic and international students.
The tuition scholarship covers all on-campus components of the program (housing, meals, curriculum materials, air chilled rooms, etc.)
$3 million+ USD in financial aid and scholarships each year.
Fee waivers for students facing financial barriers, reducing the application fee to $0.
How to Apply
To apply for the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) Program, interested and qualified candidates should;

Complete the entire online YYGS Application, including the Need-Based Financial Aid portion, by January 6, 2027.

Interested students can apply by the Early Action deadline (October 15, 2026) to receive a discounted application fee.

If the fee poses a financial burden, students can submit a fee waiver to reduce the application fee to $0 USD.

Your financial aid request will be assessed and you will be contacted on the results of your application by March 2027.
